This book is about Helene’s victims and the miracles that God performed to save many lives. It is also about how the community at large came together–neighbor helping neighbor. It is also stories about the Christian community that rose up and did an awesome job ministering to those in desperate situations.
Helene victims received thousands of meals, financial support, and comfort for those suffering great loss. Some of the stories were so heartwarming that they brought tears to my eyes. Rebuilding has been a challenge, but several organizations (Samaritan’s Purse, Baptist on Mission, Renew NC Housing, and others) went above and beyond to get homes rebuilt in record time. Some of the help came from other states.
There are several stories of how God use animals to save lives. These stories are the section of the book named “Short Stories for Children and Young at Heart”. In the Bible, there are stories about how God used animals to enhance the lives of His people.
One of the main factors that inspired me to write the book was the fact that most stories which I heard were not positive and an inspiration for the public. God was performing miracles and the media at large was not reporting on the many stories.
